A professional Vehicle Inspection Kingsley can uncover mechanical problems that may not be obvious during a short test drive. CMM Automotive recently inspected a 2003 Toyota HiAce in Kingsley and found several faults involving the cooling system, engine, steering, suspension, brakes and wheel bearings.
Interior Inspection
We began by checking the vehicle’s interior. The air conditioning produced a high temperature instead of cold air. The handbrake also provided only average operation, while the front windscreen wiper blades require replacement.
Engine Inspection
We then examined the engine bay and its components. Several hoses appeared suspect, with some showing signs of leaking. We also found staining around the water pump, which requires further investigation. Oil leaks were present from the top and rear of the engine.
Steering, Brakes and Suspension
The front suspension requires significant attention. Both upper ball joints had excessive play, and the vehicle requires new control arms. We also found excessive play in both front wheel bearings.
The front tyres require replacement, while the front brakes and disc rotors had reached the end of their service life. In addition, both axle seals were leaking and require repair.
Body and Exterior Inspection
The body inspection revealed rust at the top of the windscreen. We also found dents and scrapes on the left-hand rear guard, along with minor scratches on the front bumper.
Road Test
During the road test, the vehicle produced noticeable front brake shudder. We also felt vibration through the vehicle at approximately 80 kilometres per hour. These symptoms require further investigation before the vehicle is considered suitable for regular use.
