Before buying a second-hand vehicle, a Used Car Inspection Mount Hawthorn can uncover faults that may not appear during a short test drive. CMM Automotive recently inspected a 2008 Hyundai Accent in Mount Hawthorn and found several mechanical, safety and cosmetic issues that could lead to unexpected repair costs.
Interior Inspection
We started by checking the vehicle’s interior. The dashboard had significant sun fading, while the left-hand front window switch did not operate correctly.
Engine Inspection
Next, we examined the engine bay and its components. Our battery test showed low performance, and the radiator had sustained damage. We also found an oil leak from the rear of the automatic transmission. In addition, the right-hand front window switch was not working correctly.
Steering, Brakes and Suspension
The steering inspection identified excessive play in the steering rack ends. This can affect steering control and may contribute to uneven tyre wear. We also found the right-hand rear shock absorber leaking oil and recommend replacing it.

Body and Exterior Inspection
The body inspection revealed minor scratches and dents on the front bumper and bonnet. We also found cracks and splits in both rear tyres. In addition, the engine had an oil leak that requires further investigation and repair.
Road Test
During the road test, the vehicle pulled towards the left-hand side. We recommend checking the wheel alignment and inspecting the steering and suspension components to identify the cause.
