Buying a used four-wheel drive without a professional inspection can lead to expensive repairs after purchase. CMM Automotive recently completed a Mobile Pre Purchase Vehicle Inspection Warwick on a 2000 Toyota LandCruiser. Our inspection uncovered several mechanical, safety and cosmetic faults that every buyer should consider before making a decision.
Interior Inspection
We began the Mobile Pre Purchase Vehicle Inspection Warwick by inspecting the vehicle’s interior. The driver’s window did not operate, and the left-hand front window was missing its winder. We also found several loose wires inside the glove box, which require further investigation. In addition, several skirt trims were missing. The windscreen washer squirters also failed to operate correctly.
Engine Inspection
Next, we inspected the engine bay and its components. Our battery test showed the battery performed poorly and is nearing the end of its service life. The radiator coolant level was low, and the coolant condition was weak. We also found the brake fluid level below the recommended mark. In addition, the rocker cover gasket was leaking engine oil and requires repair.
Steering, Brakes and Suspension
Our inspection identified splits in the front control arm rubber bushes. We also found leaking swivel hubs and excessive play in the right-hand front wheel bearing. The sway bar mounting rubbers were cracking, while the tyres showed uneven wear and had become lumpy. The left-hand rear tyre had badly chopped tread, which indicates abnormal tyre wear. We also found split leaf spring control rubbers that require replacement.

Body and Exterior Inspection
We completed the Mobile Pre Purchase Vehicle Inspection Warwick by inspecting the body and exterior. The left-hand front guard showed signs of bubbling, which may indicate rust beneath the paint. Both left-hand doors had sustained damage. We also found rust and dents on the driver’s rear door.
Road Test
During the road test, the power steering produced noticeable noise. The steering wheel also sat off centre while driving. In addition, we heard road noise from the tyres and drivetrain, which requires further investigation before purchase.
