Buying a used ute without a professional inspection can help you avoid unexpected repair costs. CMM Automotive recently completed a Mobile Pre Purchase Vehicle Inspection Wangara on a Toyota Hilux at Wanneroo Renault, Drive Wangara. Our inspection identified several mechanical, suspension and cosmetic faults that could influence a buyer’s decision.
Interior Inspection
We began the Mobile Pre Purchase Vehicle Inspection Wangara by inspecting the interior. Our inspection revealed the cigarette lighter was not operating during testing. We also found the airflow control switch was faulty. The rear seats had several marks, stains and cigarette burns. A minor stain was present on the roof lining, and all door trims showed signs of wear with numerous marks.
Engine Inspection
Next, we inspected the engine bay and its components. Our battery test showed the battery had low capacity and may require replacement soon. We also found cracks and staining on the drive belt, indicating it should be replaced. Our inspection identified an oil leak from the turbocharger that requires further attention.
Steering, Brakes and Suspension
We continued by checking the steering, brakes and suspension. We found the left-hand front strut leaking and the right-hand rear shock absorber also leaking. The power steering rack was wet with oil, indicating the beginning of a leak. We also found scratches on several wheel rims. The rear brake drums had seized in place, preventing a complete inspection of the rear brakes.
Body and Exterior Inspection
We completed the Mobile Pre Purchase Vehicle Inspection Wangara by inspecting the body and exterior. The front park light lens had become cloudy with age. We also found a dent in the bullbar. Additional dents, scratches and panel damage were present on the left-hand front of the vehicle. Minor paint stains were also visible on the left-hand rear door.
Road Test
During the road test, we heard a minor noise while braking. We recommend inspecting the braking system to identify the source of the noise before purchasing the vehicle.
